Windsor RFC
High Wycombe RFC

Windsor IIs who have come down from the league above were a quality team playing at home and frankly out-gunned Wycombe in all departments.

With less than 1 minute on the clock Windsor ran in their first try and it was clear this was going to be a very tough day at the office, but Wycombe dug in and defended ferociously and despite being shoved back in the scrum and out-jumped in the line out the green wall held for another 25 minutes before Windsor scored their second.

With half time approaching the wall was back in place, but then in the space of a few minutes around half time things got even tougher, with first Ian C getting a yellow for an offence in the red zone and then in quick succession Will G suffering a serious concussion and Rohan G breaking a collarbone as the result of a somewhat illegal shoulder barge.

So with all subs used and only 14 on the pitch, the stout defence started to flag as Windsor ran in another couple of tries shortly after the break.

You can't say anything except that it was heroic defence, we never really had enough ball to be a serious attacking threat, but we all know you cant defend for 80 minutes and in the last 15 the dam finally burst as with Simon A in the bin for getting somewhat under the refs skin and so down to 14 again, Windsor ran in 4 more tries.

There wont be many teams that get close to beating Windsor IIs this season and with so many regulars not available they were not the team to meet. But well played guys, everyone single one of you stepped up to be counted - heroes all.
