Our coaches teach players to fall and tackle as safely as possible. Starting with slow walking speed and gradually increasing speed as ability improves. All coaches have committed to attend professional training courses and and so are equipped with appropriate knowledge of how to introduce skills in the best way.
In line with the RFU policy, mixed teams of girls and boys play up to and including the Under 11 age group from Under 12 girls and boys play in separate teams.
On Sunday mornings from 10am to 12 midday, we play through most school holidays with the exception of Christmas and Easter.
Yes! You are responsible for your children, our coaches are busy with the other children, and if your child needs to go to the bathroom, you will need to take them to the clubhouse (depending on age of course).
We use the Spond app to enable our communications with you. Your team manager and Head Coach will use Spond to share details of training sessions, fixtures, social events and other relevant information.
To join Spond, simply download the app and scan the barcode of the appropriate team you wish to join. The barcodes are located in the clubhouse on posters on the wall or your team manager will be able to help with this.
If we have to cancel a fixture or training session we will communicate this via the Spond App. In most circumstances we aim to cancel sessions by Saturday morning if weather related, but always check your communications before travelling on a Sunday morning in case of last minute changes.
It is recommended, as it benefits the children by providing experience of different ways of training by other coaches. It is also a great bonding experience for them (and you) as a team.
We appreciate that people lead busy lives and although we would like people to commit to coming every week we understand that it not always possible. We do ask that you advise age group admin if you are unable to attend as it helps them to plan sessions (and also helps with accurate catering numbers for match days).
Yes, bring an umbrella and waterproofs. We have to cancel only when pitches flood, there is snow or the ground is frozen. The website will be updated to let you know but usually the age group admins will let you know by email.
The U6s generally finish at approximately 11.00 and U7’s around 11.15 depending on the weather.
No problem, if they enjoy playing, the skills will follow. High Wycombe operate a rugby for all / no streaming policy.
You will be asked to help with duty rotas approximately 3 times per season as a minimum. The whole club is run by volunteers, we're all in it together and you are welcome to become part of the team to whatever level you wish.
There is always a chance of injury with sport but all of our coaches are fully qualified and there are qualified first aiders for each age group.
