Are your rugby playing days over, are you a parent or enthusiast with sometime on your hands?  Why not get involved in one or more of the following to keep you involved in the game and the club?

All we ask is that anyone who volunteers with any of the Youth section (U6’s to Colts) has a valid DBS Check (formally known as the Criminal Records Bureau Check) . The club will pay for this this process and manage the start of the administration, so if you would like to volunteer and need a DBS check please email the Safeguarding Office - safeguarding@hwrufc.com

Refereeing

Nationwide, referees are generally in short supply at all levels of the game, from Mini to Vets rugby. In particular, our own Bucks County Referees Society would welcome more recruits to their ranks. If you still fancy a run out and a pint afterwards, in the first instance please contact the Club Secretary. Courses are run from time to time the two main courses are:

  1. Old Mutual Wealth Kids First Refereeing Children
  2. England Rugby Refereeing Award (Level 2)

There are also continuation training modules usually run by the county Referees Society.

  • The Club will pay the cost of any course you go on should you gain qualification.

Refereeing courses can be booked by going to the RFU Course Booking site.

Coaching

Again, we can never get enough qualified coaches.

From time to time various courses are run which lead to formal RFU awards ranging from Kids first Tag Rugby through to Advanced level coachinhg awards. There are also lots of locally run continuation professional development courses on various aspects of the game.

No matter what level you want to start coaching you should do the Rugby Ready course and take the online world rugby laws test.

If you are interested in coaching Youth Rugby, then please get in touch with the youth.chairman@hwrufc.com

For adult Rugby please get in touch with the director.rugby@hwrufc.com

  • The club will pay for any course you go on should you gain qualification.

Coaching courses can be booked by going to the RFU Course Booking site.

Volunteers

Apart from the club elected officers and committees, we always can do with more volunteers, this can be with small one-off jobs if you have some time to spare, to larger continuous roles such as marketing manager.  Please discuss your skills / available time with any club official and they will point you in the right direction.

Whatever help you give will be appreciated in helping to improve and further develop the club.
